Goodbye Milenko

At the age of 58, MILENKO Kovacevic left the world, on Holy Saturday.

One of the best guys who worked with our office for many years and a great player.

The Serbian ace, played in Rad Belgrade and in 1992 transferred to Apollon Athens, which then starred in the Greek championship.

A team that had other excellent players, where he played in 93 games and even scored 13 goals, although the position he played was that of defensive midfielder.

He was especially loved by the fans of the Rizoupoli team, and he helped a lot in the development of the later great star, Demis Nikolaidis.

Kovacevic played a key role in Apollon’s long career in the 94/95 season, when he secured its only participation in a European tournament in its history.

Then he also played in AEK Larnaca, before retiring from football.

With many problems in his hip resuting from his football career, he could not follow the path of the coach.

He had two sons, which found him dead in the bathtub of his house, apparently from a heart attack.
